“Healing,” “playfulness,” and “experimental spirit” come together as the new release "Energy Furo" arrives on April 26, also known as “Yoi Furo no Hi” (Good Bath Day) in Japan.
"Energy Furo" brings together U-zhaan and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s celebrated collaboration "energy flow - rework" and a new interpretation built on its instrumental version, with Tamaki Roy and Chinza DOPENESS adding rap to create a fresh perspective. These two tracks, along with two newly recorded songs, will be released together as a four-track EP.
In 1999, Ryuichi Sakamoto’s instrumental piece "energy flow" became the first instrumental work ever to reach No.1 on the Japanese hit chart. Twenty years later, in 2018, Sakamoto and tabla player U-zhaan reconstructed the piece as "energy flow - rework". Layering a serene tabla melody loop with distorted guitar textures, the track creates a hypnotic and sensual atmosphere distinct from the original, presenting a deeply personal and renewed form of “energy flow.”
This EP includes those two tracks along with two newly recorded songs created specifically for this release: "Tennen Energy Furo" and "Technopolis."
